We provided design-assist, mechanical, and plumbing services for a major expansion project. Lean pull planning and aggressive project management were key elements in developing and maintaining the schedule on this project. The new facility also earned a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification.
The University of California San Diego (UCSD) needed to expand their facilities at Thornton Hospital. This project included roughly 70,000 square feet of expansions, including room for over 200 beds, 12 operating rooms, an MRI operating room, and a bone marrow transplant floor.
For this project, we:
- Provided design-assist services
- Installed mechanical and plumbing systems for a 70,000-square-foot new construction project
- Used innovative and sustainable solutions to earn the project a LEED Sliver Certification
UCSD is one of the largest research universities worldwide.
