We provided equipment installation and pipe fabrication services for this new solar energy station in Riverside, CA.
Leveraging our in-house shop, we were able to prefabricate all necessary piping for the project, helping avoid delays during the site installation process and promoting overall project safety.
Genesis Solar needed steam generators and associated equipment installed at their new concentrated solar power station, consisting of two independent solar electric generating facilities.
For the project, we installed both solar steam generators and steam turbine generators at each facility and also pre-fabricated and installed a complex piping system used to carry heated transfer fluid (HTF) across the station.
The HTF is warmed by a highly advanced array of parabolic mirrors that collect energy from the sun. Then, the HTF is piped to the solar steam generators to heat water and produce steam, which in turn is fed to the steam turbine to create electricity.
The completed station has a total net electrical output of 250 megawatts.
Genesis Solar is a wholly owned subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resource, one of the world’s largest producers of solar energy.
