MECHANICAL SERVICES & DESIGN/BUILD SOLUTIONS
Because of its proven design/build track record, UMEC was the obvious choice as the mechanical/plumbing contractor for this prestigious 67-unit condominium building in downtown San Diego. Using state-of-the-art design tools, UMEC engineers reviewed the initial plans to resolve previously unidentified technical issues in advance of construction, helping to facilitate work crew scheduling, expedite project completion, and keep costs within the budget.
While coordinating their work with other contractors, UMEC mechanical experts installed a water-source heat pump system that heats and cools the units, as well as smoke control and bathroom exhaust systems that contribute to the units' life safety and health. The company also put fans and a carbon monoxide removal system in the garage. In addition, UMEC installed the building's plumbing, including sanitary waste and vent/Sovent systems, domestic hot and cold water systems, water heaters, and booster pumps.
